Problem: Cannot select locked entities. Cannot select locked grids. Can't select locked beams. Can't select links. Cannot highlight. Cannot select pinned.
Probable solution: Revit has selection filters, available via toggle buttons at the lower right of the screen, "Select Links", "Select Underlay Elements", "Select Pinned Elements", "Select Elements by Face". Check to see if one of these is activated.
